A Note from our Pastor

Aaron’s Half Acre

There is a high-sounding notion that is sweeping the earth. It is the notion that “all paths lead to God,” that all religions lead to God, that any religion is as good as the other; and that you can choose any religion you want and it will lead you to God.
The Biblical approval to God is not that we seek God, but that God seeks us!
As it is written: “None is righteous; no, not one; no one understands, no one seeks for God. All have turned aside, together they have gone wrong; no one does good, not even one.”   ~Roman 3: 10-12

Francis Thompson’s poem, The Hound of Heaven,  puts the matter in prospective:

I fled Him, down the nights and down the days,
I fled Him, down the arches of the years;

I fled him, down the labrinthine ways,

Of my own mind; and in the midst of tears,

I hid from him, and under running laughter.

Up vistaed hopes I sped;

And shot, precipitated,

Adown Titanic glooms of chasmed fears,

From those strong Feet that followed, followed after.

But with unhurrying chase,

And unperturbed pace,

Deliberate speed, majestic instancy,

They beat -- and a voice beat

More instant than the Feet--

“All things betray thee, who betrayest Me.”

                      Let’s quit running away from God. And let Him catch up with us and give us His salvation!                                              ~Rev. Aaron Moss
