Notes of Thanks

To our Mt. Pleasant Friends, Thank you very much for all your prayers, concerns and cards during my illness. The cards have uplifted my spirits and brightened my days as I face this valley in my life and the prayers give me peace and comfort knowing that I am being lifted up to God for his healing power. Please continue to pray for me as I continue my treatments. We are blessed to have friends like you. May God bless each of you.
Love in Christ, H.W. and Lorena Coble

SPECIAL NOTE OF THANKS
I would like to say thank you to all the people that helped with VBS. There were so many ''behind the scene" people that I feel it's impossible to list them all. But to my family leaders: Leah and Justin Mitchell, Debbie Black, Lori Smith, Paula Lineberry, Sharon Shoffner and Karen Shue - Thank you so much for being there every night and leading and caring for those children. To the market place workers: Pam Sharpe, Luetishia Bradshaw, Ashley and Jessie, Janet Shoffner, and Nita Dixon - thank you for leading the children in the crafts and playing your role. Thank you to Judy and Janet Shoffner for registering the children as they arrived and to Janice Shoffner for leading the celebration every night and to Joyce for assisting her. Thank go to Pam Sharpe for organizing the meals every night and to all those that donated for the food or provided food. And I can't forget our Pharaoh and his wife (literally and in Egypt), Sam and Joyce; and their guard Cody Hollaway! Thank you to everyone that let us borrow tents also. It took a lot of people to bring this together and pull it off and I truly appreciate everyone!
Much love and appreciation to you all! Emily Lanning

We would like to thank our church family for the many cards, the calls, the visits, the gifts to ministry, the flowers in Pete's honor, and especially the prayers during Pete's illness. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
Love, Pete & Loberta Rush

We would like to give a special thank you to Kevin Lindley, our Duke Intern, for being in charge of our worship service today and also thanks to his wife, Janie, for doing our children's sermon today. Kevin has been with us since May 23 and this is his last day with us at Mt. Pleasant. Both he and Janie have been a great blessing to our church and have contributed so much to our church during their stay with us. We will miss them both and hope they will visit us in the future!

To Our Mt. Pleasant Friends, The Youth Group would like to thank everyone who helped make the retreat a success. Thanks to everyone who donated tents and a special thank you to Chuck and Nita Dickson for lending us their expertise. It was a great and glorious time.
Leah Mitchell, Youth Counselor

Thanks to everyone for all the cards, calls, food and especially the prayers during my recent surgery.
Love, Pam Florence

Note of Thanks from Rev. Aaron Moss

To the congregation of Mt. Pleasant UMC, thank you for your gracious gifts and for the beautiful plaque, which will be visible to all who enter my home. Most of all thank you for such an outpouring of love on Sunday, June 27. I was overwhelmed by it! You are such a wonderful group of people. Words cannot express the depth of my gratitude to you for the wonderful experience we shared for the past seven and one half months. You will always be special to me!
Love, Aaron

Special Thanks to July Fourth Event Volunteers

Thanks to everyone who helped to make possible our July Fourth event. Special thanks to Tom Hollaway, our Council on Ministries chairperson, who led this project. We would like to thank those who made monetary donations, as well as our other members who donated signs, food, balloons, and other materials needed for the event. The afternoon was a great success, a lot of fun for everyone, and certainly helped to welcome our new pastor and his family into our church and community. Thanks to all those who attended!

Thank You from Our New Pastor

Dear Church Family, On behalf of Sally, Alyssa, and I, let me express my heartfelt thanks for the grand welcome with the 4th of July celebration. It was a great day in worship with the welcoming ceremony as well. Linda Isley and the PPR Committee have made us feel welcome with a wonderful meal at her home. Janet Shoffner and the parsonage committee have done a great job painting and working to prepare the parsonage for our arrival.

Max and Joanne Clapp were very kind to show us around the area the day after we arrived. Loberta Rush, one of the teachers during my Jamestown Jr. High School days, brought albums so we could remember and have a good laugh together.

While trying to greet everyone, I lost track of time, but Janet brought me the last two hot dogs. The homemade ice cream and cookies were amazing and it was a wonderful turnout. Thanks to all whose hard work made this occasion very special for our family. God bless you!
Your pastor and friend, Rev. Chuck Halipilias

A very special thank you to our church family for the outpouring of love through your visits, calls, cards, and food during this difficult time. God bless you all!!
Thanks again! David and Jean Watson

I want to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts, cards and calls during my mother's illness and passing. It has been hard to be away from you all, but it is a necessary evil. Please continue to pray for my Dad-he has a long road ahead of him. My sisters and I will be there to get him through it. Again, thank you so much and I will miss you!
With Love in Christ, Kristen Sizemore

I would like to thank my church family for all the cards and the prayers during my recent illness.
Love, Dee Willets

Thank you so very much for your wonderful gift of food to Loaves and Fishes. You are helping us to feed the many hungry people in our area. God bless you for thinking of us. Please continue to do so!
Love, Brenda, Burlington Loaves and Fishes

I would like to thank Rev. Aaron Moss, Rachel and L.E. Wagoner and Steve and Faye Shoffner for volunteering their time on a very hot June 5th to help with Community Impact along with other United Methodists in the Greensboro District. We had over 500 volunteers for the mission event. I would also like to thank everyone who contributed monetary gifts to help pay freight for the Kenya meals and other expenses. We collected $104.
Darlene Rierson, Missions Chairperson
