Circle
The Ferguson Circle
met at the Fellowship Hall with 10 members present. Hostesses were
Louise Clapp and Betty Amick. The devotions were by Margie Scott who
used The Upper Room - "The Grace of Giving",
II Corinthians 8: 1-7, 9: 6 and 8. Also the Guidepost "Laugh Out Loud"
stories - She who laughs last-
Women of Faith. Margie really gave us something to laugh about -
"Telemarketers and Other Supper time Annoyances and How To Treat Them"
which had us in stitches.
Our Treasurer gave our financial standing. We had 76 visits to our
shutins. We received a donation from Ruth Curl and a thank you note
from Rev. Moss. Cards are to be sent to Henry Rush, H.W. Coble, Billy
Hudson, George Huffines, Kristen Sizemore and David Watson. We had a
report on the 4th of July celebration which was a huge success,
welcoming Rev. Halipilias. So many people there, that ran out of hot
dogs and ice cream.
August 11 we are taking a field trip to Seagrove. We will meet at the
Fellowship Hall at 9 am. We are opening the trip to church members who
would like to go. We will be eating there also for lunch.
Our program was by Ann Drake, Matthew 6: 2-30. There are only three
flowers mentioned in the Bible-lilies, roses, henna blossoms. There are
so many things that flowers do for us. Ann asked us our favorite
flowers and told us the meaning of each. Our prayer was also by Ann.
Joanne gave our blessing and we had a wonderful lunch prepared by
Louise and Betty which was absolutely delicious. They are wonderful
